Mattel bolsters UK marketing team

Firm makes three new appointments as it continues to shift focus from toys to brand franchises.

Anne-Sophie Mathieu has joined Mattel as assistant brand manager, Girls Inc. Mathieu has worked across a number of FMCG brands including Ben & Jerry’s and Gatorade.

Most recently, she worked as junior brand manager on Sunny Delight in France where her remit included market research, in-store implementation and TV advertising. Mathieu holds a Masters in FMCG marketing and communication from Grenoble Ecole de Management in France.

Joining the boys marketing team as assistant brand manager, Wheels, is Tess Parsons.

Parsons joins from Vivid Imaginations where she worked across key girls and pre-school brands and was responsible for taking products from concept to launch as well as helping to develop 360° marketing programmes. Prior to this, Parsons worked for Coty UK as marketing assistant, where she worked on major fragrance launches across the UK.

Heather Saxby joins leading infant and pre-school brand Fisher-Price as marketing associate in a newly transitioned role.

Saxby joins Mattel from LG Electronics, where she held the role of independent channel executive in the sales team honing strong co-ordination and administration skills that will be a great addition to the marketing team.

Mattel director of marketing, Jenny Watson, commented: "We are delighted to welcome Anne-Sophie, Tess and Heather to Mattel UK. These appointments build on what is already a strong marketing team and set us up for continued success in 2012 and beyond."
