London Fire Brigade and Playmobil team up to teach kids fire safety

65 free open days will be held across London to teach fire safety, which will also mark the brigade’s 150th anniversary.

Children across London have been taught important fire safety lessons thanks to the help of Playmobil toys and the London Fire Brigade.

The Soho Fire Station kicked off the 65 free open days, where children played with the toys and saw vintage fire engines.

The free open days also mark the brigade’s 150th anniversary this year, which will take place from April to December.

Jamie Dickinson, marketing manager of Playmobil UK, said: “Partnering with one of our vital emergency services is such a proud moment for us.

“We’re looking forward to meeting lots of future firefighters in training at the open days.”

Limited edition London Fire Brigade versions of Playmobil’s Fire Brigade sets have also been designed, to help teach kids the importance of fire safety at home.

Ron Dobson, London Fire Commissioner, added: “The 65 open days across the capital are a great opportunity for people to celebrate our birthday and interact with firefighters who do so much work protecting London every day.

“Our education team does a great job instilling fun into our fire safety advice and Archie is an important ambassador for the work we do.”
