Launching this month, the characters have been created by PPW Toys, under licence from Hasbro and BBC Worldwide. First up is Mr Potato Head - The Eleventh Doctor, with new potatoes being announced throughout the year.

The one of a kind collectables were debuted at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, with the Spuds having eight removable parts and pieces to mix and match, for play or display.

"We are excited to be working with BBC Worldwide and Hasbro this year on such an exciting property," said Dean Gorby, business manager at PPW Toys. Robyn Morgan, licensing director at Underground Toys, added: "PPW Toys, Underground Toys, the BBC and Hasbro have executed this remarkable product collaboration in record time. We are very proud of the outcome and we believe the fans will love this special take on the Doctor."
