LEGO City and Chat magazine have unveiled a life-size model of a ten year old LEGO fan at LEGOLAND Windsor, a first for a member of the UK public.

Jack Covill-Lowndes, a pupil at Magdalen School, was nominated by his Aunt and Guardian, Tamara Lowndes in to the Chat/LEGO City competition earlier this year, which aimed to find a true life hero.

The ten year old from Wainfleet was named the winner of the competition for his continued support and fundraising on behalf of St Barnabas Hospice, the hospice that took care of his mother, Steph when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

LEGO Jack now stands at 4ft 6", made from approximately 35,000 LEGO bricks. The model was recreated by the first LEGO certified professionals in the UK, Duncan Titmarsh and Ed Diment.

The model will stand in LEGO City until the end of September, before being transported to Jack's house.

"It's awesome," said Lowndes. "They've even made the same clothes I was wearing out of LEGO - I can't stop looking at my statue. LEGO city is my favourite range so it's great to know that I'll be stood in the LEGO City area for a whole month."

LEGO City brand manager, Harry Harrison, added: "Jack's story really captured the essence of a real life, everyday hero.

"He's a real inspiration - and to be immortalised in LEGO is befitting of his amazing outlook and achievements."

Chat editor, Gilly Sinclair, concluded: "Jack is such a hero. And he looks so cool in LEGO. He's a really worthy winner of this competition and we know his mum would have been so proud. well done Jack."
