Consumer insights and research have led to a strategic decision to integrate Facebook into the overall Duplo communication plan, which includes a social media element aimed at mothers of children aged one and half to five-years.
The page includes videos with play ideas, child development information and behind the scenes material. A detailed content plan has been developed for the Facebook group to ensure that the page remains fresh and relevant.
With Lego Universe also launching a Facebook page in October, Duplo is challenging its extended network of contacts to join the Facebook group and share it with friends in order to establish a wide base of fans/users from the very beginning.
The Facebook page forms part of Duplo's social media campaign, which launched in August, with the aim of tapping in to the growing community of digital mums, a key audience for the brand.
Additional activity includes a display advertising on key parenting websites, which allows mums to share content with each other, and a blogging toolkit providing mums with interesting content for them to use on their own sites.
