LeapFrog has taken the wraps off the LeapPad Ultra, its latest children's learning tablet.

Priced at £119.99, the tablet will hit UK retail on August 8th and works with the firm's library of more than 500 games, apps and more. Unique to LeapPad Ultra, the seven-inch Duo Tech high resolution screen is designed to help children learn to write using a stylus, while supporting interactive touch experiences.

Additionally, LeapPad Ultra boasts a sleek new look, a long lasting reechargeable battery, plus front and back cameras and video recorders, and 8GB of storage for photos, apps, videos and more.

Recommended for four to nine year olds, the tablet also has LeapSearch by Zui, a proprietary kid-safe web browser.

"LeapPad Ultra is testament to LeapFrog's unswerving commitment to, and understanding of, both child and parent," said Chris Spalding, SVP and MD EMEA. "Following the tremendous success of our LeapPad tablets over the last two years, we are once again delivering a first class innovation in educational entertainment that not only delights and fuels little growing minds, but gives that all important peace of mind and invaluable confidence to parents.

"LeapPad Ultra, with its extensive and engaging library of over 500 learning experiences plus kid-safe web browser, shows just how in tune we are with parent's needs and concerns. Thanks to our in-house Learning Team, parents can trust that children using LeapPad Ultra will be exploring and learning in a safe, stimulating and personalised environment as all games, activities and videos have been specifically designed and vetted just for them."

Spalding continued: "With front and back cameras and recorders, plus a seven-inch high resolution touchscreen, we believe that LeapPad Ultra will be the top item on children's wish lists this year."
