The results come after a strong first quarter for Leapfrog, which saw a 55 per cent increase on the same period last year.
Leapfrog bucked the general trend of the toy industry, which had an overall decline of six per cent in April. The firm says the growth has been down to the success of LeapPad, the Explorer Software, which was up 285 per cent and the Tag Reading System, up 48 per cent.
Chris Spalding, Managing Director and Senior Vice President EMEA and ASIA, commented on the results: “It really has been an outstanding start to 2012 for LeapFrog UK, with our results massively outperforming the market.
"We are confident that our focus on market-leading innovation, and our dedication to successfully combining education and entertainment for children, will deliver further growth in the second half of the year."
