KidsOut's Toy Fair Trolley Dash set to help 1,000 kids

At this year’s London Toy Fair, more than 60 volunteers for KidsOut joined together to take part in the 2016 Trolley Dash.

50 trollies were used in the dash, which were donated by supermarket Tesco, where volunteers ran through the fair to collect donations from exhibitors for disadvantaged children.

KidsOut estimates that it will be able to provide toys to another 1,000 children thanks to the donations at the show.

Sandra Doherty, head of children’s service at KidsOut, said: “We are so pleased with the results of the Trolley Dash. The generosity of exhibitors mixed with the enthusiasm of volunteers made the day a true success for KidsOut.

“We receive feedback all the time about how important our Toy Box service is to the refuges and the children who receive them. Without these toys many of the children would be left with nothing, and I am so proud that KidsOut can be a part of making their lives a little better.”

Toys and furniture donated to the Trolley Dash will be given to local refuges and the KidsOut Toy Box service, which supports children who are victims of domestic abuse.
