Jakks Pacific has secured the rights to develop a new line of products based on Universal's Despicable Me and Minions franchise.

The new deal will see the US toymaker manufacture, market and distribute a range of Despicable Me and Minions themed inflatable ball pits, wagons, arcade games, outdoor children’s furniture and more.

Products are expected to launch across the US this spring, coinciding with the theatrical release of the Minions movie this July.

“We are pleased to be part of the phenomenally successful Despicable Me franchise and the highly anticipated Minions film, by offering an array of products that feature popular characters from the films, including a 20 inch Minion storage container and inflatable ball pits,” said Tara Hefter, vice president of licensing, Jakks Pacific.

“We are excited to bring a new line of products of these films’ fans.”
