Jakks Pacific sees sales jump 19 per cent in first half of 2015

Continued success of Frozen dolls, Disney Princess, Disney Fairies and Nintendo lines have helped the firm to a record quarter.

US toymaker Jakks Pacific has seen net sales increase 19 per cent to $245.3 million in its first half results of 2015.

For the first six months ending June 30th, the firm has seen a surge that compares to $206.7 million in 2014.

Net sales in Jakks’ second quarter financial results have risen to $131.1 million, compared to $124.2 million reported in the comparable period in 2014.

Jakks Pacific has credited its line of Frozen licensed dolls, Disney Princess, Disney fairies and World of Nintendo toys, including plush and vehicles for the success in the second quarter.

“The positive momentum we achieved in the first quarter carried into the second quarter,” said Stephen Berman, chief executive officer, Jakks Pacific.

“We grew the topline, while improving margins and EBITDA. We have focused our product development and growth opportunities to be more global in nature resulting in our international division having a record quarter, and our Disney product lines continue to perform well around the world.”

Seasonal products such as water floats, Funnoodle and Jakks’ Max Tow and XPV brands of vehicles have also performed well in the quarter.

“Looking ahead, I am confident we are poised to continue the momentum of growth and profitability with a compelling portfolio of brands, and believe our product lines slated for introduction this autumn will be one of our most innovative lines yet,” continued Berman.

“Together with the extended terms of our key licences and our international growth, we are well positioned for the remainder of 2015 and beyond.”

The second half of the year will now see Jakks Pacific unveil new products across a number of categories, including Sing-A-Long Elsa, new World of Nintendo figures, new Marvel lines and more.
