Jakks Pacific is getting ready to rumble as the US toy maker signs with WWE to create a new range of toys based on the wrestling series.

The new deal marks a return to wrestling scene for Jakks Pacific who previously began producing WWE figures in the mid-1990s.

The new range will hit stores in 2016 and will include a range of dress-up, role play, radio control vehicles, seasonal costumes and Jakks’s 3D IT Character Creator brand, as well as action figures across the Asia-Pacific region.

Mattel will retain the master toy license for WWE, whose current deal runs through until 2019.

“In addition to our long-standing master toy partnership with Mattel, we are excited to expand our toy portfolio with a company as innovative and creative as Jakks Pacific,” said WWE executive vice president of consumer products, Casey Collins.

“This new line of products will bring to life our favourite WWE Superstars and Divas in a new way that we are sure our fans and collectors of all ages will enjoy.”
