Jakks Pacific will be adding a raft of activity and outdoor toys to its portfolio following the acquisition of Ohio-based Maui Toys.

The firm has acquired all of the shares of stock of Maui, and its Hong Kong-based affiliate AS Design. Brands include Wave Hoop and Sky Ball, among others.

"The Maui Toys acquisition complements our growing portfolio of non-licensed, proprietary brands," said Stephen Berman, CEO and president of Jakks Pacific. "We expect that it will enhance our product portfolio, diversify our distribution and offer great products to our consumers around the world.

"We anticipate expanding the Maui Toys product line through our strong distribution channels in key international markets."

Brian Kessler, CEO of Maui, added: "We look forward to joining the Jakks Pacific family and having the support of such a dynamic consumer products company."
