Toy industry veteran, Caroline Brotherton has detailed her retirement from international toy firm H. Grossman.

Having worked alongside Martin and Elinor Grossman in her role as director for the last 20 years, Brotherton (pictured above right) made her decision to step down early last year.

With her fiancé Wallace, Brotherton plans to spend her retirement pursuing her hobbies and making the most of her retirement present, a motor home from the Grossmans.

“I have had 20 years doing my dream job,” said Brotherton. “I have absolutely loved working with this business and loved working with Martin, Eli and everyone at Grossmans.

“Grossmans is an extension of my family and there is no doubt I will miss everyone very much. Martin and I were the Ying and Yang of the business, but that difference in personalities and skills combined to make a really successful team.

“I had always planned to retire early and pursue my many hobbies including cycling, hill walking, swimming, ice-skating and all the other outdoor activities that I enjoy.”

Martin Grossman, added: “Caroline who? Of course, it is sad to see Caroline retire from the company and we wish her nothing but the best.

“I still believe that she will be back in the harness within six months to a year. All bets are in.

“But seriously, it’s with great joy that we see her embarking on this next stage of her life. She has shown unwavering loyalty over the years through good times and the not so good times. Caroline has the respect and loyalty of everyone inside the company and many people in the toy industry – we all think the world of her.”

Elsewhere, the firm has appointed a new territory sales manager to cover the North and Central England and Wales in the form of Michael Fourie.

"We are delighted to welcome Michael who has years of experience in the trade," said Grossman.
