HTI readies launch of new Tonka Town line

New range of tough real life action toys arrive for autumn/winter.

HTI Group is launching the latest Tonka range - Tonka Town - this autumn/winter which inclydes a collection of bright vehicles, figures and play-sets.

The range extends the popular brand into the pre-school sector, with items made from strong durable plastic with chunky proportions and textured finishes. The range also features interactive parts that trigger sounds.

The Tonka Town Fire Station Play-set (£39.99) is equipped with sirens and blue flashing lights, a training tower - complete with imitation fire - and a fireman's pole. The play-set also includes an extendable garage with opening doors, manual dial to switch from red to green to show when the Tonka Fire Car is on call and rotating satellite on the roof.

The Tonka Town Prison Set (£24.99) is also multi-featured and comes with Policeman and inmate character, as well as a free wheeling Police Bike and a range of interactive features. The criminal can be locked in his cell and then escape through the 'break out' wall - which triggers the lights to flash and the sirens to whirr.

Vehicles in the range include the Tonka Town Dump Truck (£19.99), the Tonka Town Police Ranger (£14.99) and the Tonka Town Police Bike (£9.99), Tonka Town Fire Engine (£19.99) and Tonka Town Fire Car (£14.99).

"Tonka Town builds on a strong evergreen brand that has been a favourite with kids and parents for years," commented Sarah Holden, marketing and communication manager at HTI Group. "This innovative pre-school segment introduces a new element to the Tonka brand and is sure to be a big seller in the build up to Christmas."

As well as the toy line, there is a dedicated website, plus a limited edition 36-page Tonka Town magazine (£3.99) due to launch from October 15th.

Tonka Town will be supported with a TV advertising campaign, featuring the Fire Station Play-set, which will run for four weeks from October 21st to November 17th. The 20-second ad will also trail the full range, comic and website url. The ad will air across channels including Nick Jr, Cartoonito, Boomerang, Milkshake and Disney Jr.
