The Junior Design Awards recognise children’s products that combine design aesthetics with superb functionality, innovation, exceptional quality and value for money.
Hot Wheels Wall Tracks allows boys to play with their cars and track sets on their bedroom wall. Following the sell-out success of the line last year, Hot Wheels has introduced new Wall Tracks Mid Air Madness, which comes with a booster and a background poster to bring the set to life.
New for autumn 2012 is the Wall Tracks Power Tower, which features a working elevator for continuous racing action.
The Best Toy Design award joins a raft of other accolades for the line including the Toy Industry Association’s Innovative Toy of the Year and Boys Toy of the Year awards, a Good Housekeeping Institute Best Toy Award and a BizzieBaby Bronze Award.
Mattel Boys Marketing Manager Jonathan Kirkley commented: “Wall Tracks was a phenomenally successful launch for us in 2011 and we have even bigger plans for the line in autumn 2012.
"We’re delighted to win yet another award; especially as this endorsement comes from one of the UK’s top parenting magazines."
