A driver from the Team Hot Wheels crew will be aiming to break the current world record distance jump of 302-feet in a four-wheel vehicle on May 29th.
Dubbed Hot Wheels: Fearless at the 500, the driver will speed down a near vertical 90ft ramp, suspended on a ten story high, 100ft modelling of a bedroom door, before soaring across the infield of the Indianapolis speedway.
The stunt is aiming to bring to life the Hot Wheels V-Drop track set. It is just part of a major campaign which Mattel has put together for the brand, which also encompasses a partnership with the British Racing Drivers Club at Silverstone, plus TV, social and digital media and PR.
“This epic stunt is just one of a number of ways that we are bringing the brand to life, engaging fans with a jaw dropping moment in a way that only Hot Wheels can,” commented Jonathan Kirkley, boys marketing manager at Mattel.
