Mattel's Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5 is returning to Cartoon Network in time for the Easter weekend.

The new CGI-animated series - aimed at four to nine year-old boys - will introduce new villains and heroes, plus a new way to battle.

The vehicles can now combine forces to create larger, more powerful combat machines to defeat the villains, the Red Sentients.

Mattel is planning to bring the range to life with a new line of vehicles, figures and track sets, including larger scale fusion combat vehicles featuring ultimate transformation and battling power, weapons and firing projectiles.

The first series of the show is currently being re-run, meaning Hot Wheels Battle Force 5 will have constant on-air presence all year, including all major school holiday programming.
