Hornby will look to reconnect with the British public this Christmas with a new campaign highlighting its history and family appeal.
Starting in black and white, the 30-second creative follows a Hornby hobbyist enjoying an ever expanding train set through the decades and up to the present day. Hornby, Scalextric, Airfix, Corgi and Humbrol logos are displayed with the tagline 'A passion for every generation and the next.'

"Capturing what it means for our consumers to enjoy a train set in 30 seconds is no mean feat and I think we’ve done it. I’m very proud of what we have achieved with this advert," said Simon Kohler, Hornby marketing manager for railways.
Running from December 10th to January 5th, the commercial will air during 23 major football fixtures on Sky Sports and ESPN, targeting the key lads, dads and granddads demographics.
From December 15th the advert will be shown in major and independent cinemas in showings of Hugo, Happy Feet 2, Puss in Boots and Alvin and The Chipmunks.
Hornby's new ad takes viewers through the decades
Nat Southworth, sales and marketing director at Hornby Hobbies said the campaign is "just the begining" for the firm.
He commented: "Hornby, Scalextric, Airfix/Humbrol and Corgi have passionate consumers and our customer base is just as passionate. A passion for every generation and the next sums up what we are striving to deliver here. A 30-second advertising campaign on this media is a major investment and this supports our customers right through the holiday season."
Kohler added: "Going out in cinemas full of kids, parents and grandparents through the holiday period is a great audience for us to play out to. The Sky Sports and ESPN package in the lead up to Christmas is simply the icing on the cake."
