Hornby has signed a new worldwide licensing agreement with Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix for F1 World Championship toy lines spanning Scalextric, Airfix, and Corgi products.

Richard Ames, Hornby's chief executive, said: "We are delighted to announce this new important licence with Mercedes-Benz. The timing is excellent with Lewis Hamilton winning the F1 World Championship at the weekend. Hornby is well positioned to progress a number of important licenses that we can develop across our ranges.

"Hornby will continue to develop relevant licensing relationships that complement the heritage and values of our iconic brand portfolio."

"Speaking personally, we were delighted to see that during the coverage of the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix coverage on the BBC, that they used our products to demonstrate that real-life racers begin their racing career with Scalextric."
