The Hornby carriages form a unique model train representing the inspiration of over 30 British and Czech emerging and established artists and are a special feature to the larger Coal & Steel exhibition taking place in The Candid Arts Trust Gallery.

Each artist displaying work for the larger exhibition, has taken the time to design each carriage in their unique styles.

The carriages will be auctioned at the end of 2012 to raise money for the Islington-based charity - Access for Sports - working with disadvantaged young people across the borough.

The Czech Open celebrates the Czech cultural season in London and is taking place during spring and summer in line with the Diamond Jubilee and London Olympics.

A selection of programmes are taking place throughout the period including activities for children and the involvement of designers, musicians and filmmakers. The featured artists in the Coal & Steel exhibition include: Tessa Farmer, Bob & Roberta Smith, Gavin Turk, Martin Richman, Josef Bolf, David Cerny and many more.

Simon Kohler, Hornby marketing manager, commented: "It’s great to see different cultures celebrating this iconic year within British history and, as a British brand, we are delighted to provide our product to mark the occasion.

"The designs on the carriages are fascinating and it shows the traditional Hornby trains in a whole new light."

The exhibition runs until April 28th 2012, open daily 12pm - 6pm. For more information, visit czechopen2012.com
