Hornby has crowned the winners of this year's Junior Engineering Challenge, organised by the RAF Charitable Trust in collaboration with STEM Works.

Held at the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford last week, Hornby marketing and communications manager Hannah O’Toole and Red Arrows senior engineer, squadron leader Peter Searle presented Corgi Vulcan models to overall winners Catherine and Chloe from Bibury C of E Primary School.

The Challenge asked the engineers of the future to design and build a vehicle to travel five metres in the fastest time using a propeller or balloon as the means of propulsion.

Hornby also had a stand in the Techno Zone at RIAT showcasing their new Battle of Britain inspired collection of Airfix and Corgi model sets.
