UPDATE: Hasbro has revealed the new Furby, picture below

Hasbro UK has posted a mysterious outline of a creature that looks suspiciously like the electronic furry friend, with the caption 'Guess who's coming back?!' on it's Facebook page:

As confirmed by Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner, Furby will return return this year. Could the most-wanted toy have parents queueing around the block again, just like Christmas 1998?

In Hasbro's Q1 earnings call, Goldner said: "We're also very excited about the return of Furby to our line-up this fall. We are not yet sharing specific details of the new Furby, but we are pleased with the reception Furby has received thus far by our retail partners and we look forward to unveiling Furby to consumers."

One day after the mystery tease, Hasbro has revealed the new Furby:

Although it’s been a while since we last saw Furby, Hasbro has kept its hand in the feature plush category with Dream Dozen 2011 entrant Let’s Rock Elmo and the Furreal Friends range.

With the advancements in animatronics consumers can expect considerable improvements in the new version.
