Hasbro partners with Xiaomi for Soundwave transforming tablet

Electronics company Xiaomi is teaming up with Hasbro to launch a tablet that changes into a Transformer-esque robot.

The toy known as Soundwave: Mi Pad 2 has been launched as a crowdfunding project, and will begin shipping in China from May 13th.

The robot is squeezed into a 7mm body and can fully transform into the Decepticon character from the film in 30 steps.

In addition, the campaign aims to sell 1,000 figures of the new Soundwave toy at $26 each in just 13 days.
