HASBRO: Christmas top twenty

Hasbro launched its top twenty toys for the festive season at a Christmas showcase event yesterday.

The bulk of the list was in the boys' sector with licensed toys from Marvel superheroes The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man to new film releases Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

The new Here and Now edition of Monopoly is also hoped to be a Christmas hit. Hasbro will announce the final cities for the new board in August, after 5 million people worldwide voted for their favourite city.

The evergreen My Little Pony brand has once again topped the list of girls toys, alongside the revamped Baby Alive doll.

In the Night Garden remains a strong brand for preschool and Upsy Daisy is her bed is expected to be a best seller this year.

Hasbro spokesperson, Nick Mouton said: "We've got a great range of products this year and choosing the top twenty was a difficult job. The Star Wars toys are bigger and better than ever and there are lots of very popular brands in the list."
