Hasbro employees across the world have helped spread the Christmas cheer to children in need by volunteering in the firm's first ever Global Day of Joy.

5,000 employees worldwide - including 350 in the UK - volunteered with community service projects and more than 100 charitable organisations designed to brighten the holiday period for underserved children in 36 countries.

From its global headquarters in the US, to its offices in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific, the volunteers donned Team Hasbro shirts to make their contributions with toys, games, paintbrushes and more.

Hasbro CEO and president, Brian Goldner, said: "Hasbro's commitment to helping children where we live and work began with our founders more than 90 years ago and continues with our inaugural Global Day of Joy.

"With the help of our many charitable partners, this initiative provided our talented team of employees with a glimpse into the incredible impact that can be made for children in need across the globe when we work together."

200 employees from Hasbro's Uxbridge office partnered with the Toy Trust and The Kindness Offensive to deliver presents to 5,700 children in refuges, orphanages or hospitals.

Elsewhere in the UK, employees supported children's hospice service Shooting Star Chase as they spent time working in its stores across London that help support 600 families across the community.

Meanwhile, volunteers helped theme and decorate the Wellbeck Community Resource Centre in Hayes, supporting the Hillingdon Play Association.

Hasbro's UK managing director, Foye Pascoe, said: "Despite this being one of the busiest times of the year for so many in our company, the response from employees has been overwhelmingly positive.

"While this speaks to Hasbro's general culture of service, it also shares the passion each of our employees has for creating positive change and bringing happiness to children."
