Hasbro has teamed with Rovio Entertainment and Lucas Licensing to launch a new line of products based on the eagerly anticipated Angry Birds Star Wars game.

The global deal will see the firm launch several new toys based on the property, including the AT-AT Attack Battle Game. In addition, the collection will feature new products based on a variety of its existing properties such as Jenga and Koosh.

"We've developed a selection of innovative toys and games featuring Angry Birds Star Wars that delivers new ways to play for fans of these two great franchises," said John Frascotti, chief marketing officer at Hasbro.

"We're proud of our heritage of delivering Star Wars toys that have entertained generations of kids, and we're excited to offer fans of both Star Wars and Angry Birds the opportunity to experience their favourite characters and icons in exhilarating new ways."

Paul Southern, VP of licensing and consumer products marketing at Lucas Licensing, added: "Kids, families and fans of both Star Wars and Angry Birds will be delighted with the products our partners have created for this new expression of two of today's biggest properties in the licensing world.

"We expect these new products to surprise and delight consumers all around the world."

Harri Koponen, COO and head of licensing at Rovio, continued: "We are thrilled to be working with Lucasfilm, Hasbro and our entire line-up of licensees to give our fans a whole new experience with the brands and characters they know and love, and we cannot wait for them to explore these new lines."

As well as Hasbro, Lucas and Rovio have some 50 licensees on board for the brand, including Commonwealth Toy & Novelty.
