GP Flair celebrated the grand opening of its new expanded offices and show room yesterday.
Retailers, partners and the press gathered to see the ribbon-cutting and special guests included the Mayor of the borough of Sutton Gerry Jereome, and Giochi Preziosi group vice chairman and chief marketing officer Dario Berte.
Speaking to the room, Peter Brown paid tribute to his colleagues hard work and credited Giochi Preziosi for his company's 'rapid growth'.
He said: "My colleagues and I have managed to sell £100 million pounds worth of toys at retail in the UK each year. It’s a fantastic effort from a zero start."
Flair became the UK division of Giochi Preziosi in 2008. "At that time the UK was the missing piece in the jigsaw and we’re very pleased to complete that picture for Giochi Preziosi," said Brown.
He added: "We’re genuinely proud to be the UK division of Europe’s fastest growing toy group with trade sales of over £1 billion euros – that’s an unbelievable number."
Since starting up in 1999, Flair has been run from the middle-floor of Anne Boleyn House in Cheam, Surrey. As a result of its recent growth, the firm has been able to occupy all three storeys of the building, allowing for the construction of the new show room.
Guests enjoyed looking around the new showroom, which has a large area dedicated to Sylvanian Families.
Brown said the expansion will give the company the space needed for "the exciting growth that we will see in the future."
Unable to attend, Enrico Preziosi, president of Giochi Preziosi said in a letter to Brown: “I’m proud the significant development that we and Flair have executed together since we partnered.
“Important steps have been performed, but we all know that further significant growth is infront of us and we have to prepare ourselves to be ready for such a challenge. I do believe that our new offices and show room are a tangible representation of our path.”
