Start Licensing has built on its licensing relationship with Golden Bear on Hana's Helpline, adding wooden products to the line of toys it is developing.

Golden Bear launched its initial collection of plush, feature plush, playsets and figurines at last week's London Toy Fair. This followed on from Random House's publication of four picture storybooks in early January.

The licensing programme also includes Cooneen and Misirli for apparel.

"Golden Bear's recent move into wooden toys is very timely for us as it is a natural development for Hana's Helpline," said Start Licensing's Ian Downes. "By adding these products to their existing range we are benefitting from their great knowledge of the property."

Alison Pilgrim, senior licensing and product development manager at Golden Bear, added: "Golden Bear is delighted to confirm the launch of a wooden range for Hana's Helpline in SS09. This will complement the plush and plastic range already in place.

"As a company we are excited at the prospect of developing a wooden range for Hana as we feel it fits perfectly with the character and the animated programme."

Other Hana's Helpline activity includes ongoing presence on the Milkshake website (such as bespoke animation shorts), coverage in Redan's Fun to Learn Favourites magazine and feature content in Milkshake-branded books to be launched later this year.
