Golden Bear appointed master toy distributor for new Oddbods line

Golden Bear has been appointed the master toy distributor for a new range of Oddbods plush and toys across the UK and Ireland.

In partnership with European master toy firm RP2, the new collection of toys based on the global hit TV and YouTube series will roll out to retailers next year.

Oddbods, the brainchild of animation studio One Animation launched last year, targeting kids aged four to seven with its sketch-based CG-animated comedy.

Each episode follows the adventures of seven characters as they chance their way through seemingly ordinary situations, with often unexpected consequences.

Making its UK TV premiere as a new series of five minute episodes on CITV and ITV this month, Oddbods has reportedly already attracted an expansive fan base across the globe.

Golden Bear’s appointment as UK and Ireland distributor follows the news that ITV Studios Global Entertainment has recently acquired the UK licensing rights for the brand. The firm is already preparing a dedicated UK consumer products programme to target Oddbods fans.

“Oddbods is an exciting launch for us and we are delighted to be working with RP2,” said Katherine Pierce, senior licensing and marketing manager at Golden Bear.

“The company has a 360 degree approach to launching product, linking everything together from manufacture, broadcast, promotional and social activity which is unique.

“To have stellaer broadcast partners ITV and CN on board is really exciting for the launch of the property and we very much look forward to working with them on this creative and exciting new animated venture.”
