The toy manufacturer is attributing the rise in sales to its takeover in March 2008 of Smoby Toys. Managing director Manfred Duschl reported total revenues of E525 million at the group's annual press conference in Fürth.

After adjustment for unexpectedly high sales of E120 million from Smoby, the Simba-Dickie group increased consolidated sales by almost 10 per cent to E405 million (E370 million in 2007).

E145 million of the turnover came from Germany and E260 million (64 per cent) from international markets.
