Forbes names Mattel's Max Steel movie as biggest flop of the year

Film grossed just over $4.4 million globally, but is yet to reach UK cinemas.

Forbes has named Hollywood's biggest turkeys of 2016, and Mattel's Max Steel movie tops the list.

The Max Steel movie was an origins story for the smash hit toy, but it grossed just over $4.4 million at the global box office, and is yet to get a UK release date. 

Forbes' list of Hollywood’s biggest turkeys uses information from Box Office Mojo, IMDB and other sources to find worldwide box office grosses and estimated production budgets.

The firm ranked films based on the percentage of their budgets they earned back at the theater as of November 21st and only includes movies that opened wide in more than 2,000 theaters.

Other movies to make Forbes' list included the Ratchet & Clank film and Matthew McConaughey's Free State of Jones.
