Fisher-Price's Little People TV series gets second season from Mattel Creations

Mattel Creations has greenlit a second season of the preschool CGI series Little People, a TV show based on the hit Fisher-Price brand.

The firm has teamed with DHX Media to develop the run of 52 episodes of the hit comedic and musical pre-school TV show.

In further deals, DHX Media has licensed season one to Lagardere in France, Hop Media Group in Isreael and De Agostini Editore in Italy.

Josh Scherba, SVP, distribution at DHX Media, said: “The original brand has proven successful with the pre-school demographic and the television show continues the solid themes and style that Little People is best-known for.

“It’s an uplifting pre-school series that builds skills of imagination and problem-solving through discovery and group play and we are very pleased by the response from broadcasters globally and the significant demand for additional episodes.”

Christopher Keenan, senior vice president of global content and executive producer at Mattel Creations, added: “Little People has been a joy to produce and we are thrilled with thereaction from broadcasters and fans around the world.
