Fisher-Price has revealed it will be expanding its line of Thomas & Friends Minis to include brand new characters.
As part of its partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP), the toy company is set to launch 35 new DC Super Friends Minis inspired by superheroes.
The Minis will star Thomas who will take on the role of Superman, while his other engine friends will come as Robin, The Flash and Cyborg.
Plus, Fisher-Price is taking on SpongeBob SquarePants with a range of more than 10 new Minis based on the TV series.
Mike Pisors, director of toy global brand marketing for Thomas & Friends, said: “Thomas & Friends is a beloved brand spanning generations, but we know today’s children not only play with trains, but also cars, blocks and action figures.
“Our partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products allows us to bring to life mash-ups of pre-schoolers’ all-time favorite DC Comics superheroes and super-villains for a relevant, winning combination kids will love.”
Fisher-Price will also be developing online content around the Minis, building on the videos that were created for the first Minis that launched last year.
