LEGO has revealed the first official images of its new LEGO Wall-E building set, inspired by the 2008 Disney Pixar movie of the same name.

The set itself is the result of a successful submission to the LEGO fan building set invention site, LEGO Ideas and was created by Angus MacLane, who also worked on the movie itself.

The set was approved by the team at LEGO Ideas earlier this year, after receiving 10,000 votes and passing the review stage online.

The Wall-E set is part of a swathe of new building kits to emerge from the LEGO Ideas platform this year, following the likes of LEGO The Big Bang Theory and LEGO Doctor Who.

According to The Brick Fan, the set is expected to hit shelves in the US this December with the price tag of around $40.
