A team of former Hasbro product designers has taken to Kickstarter to help launch a range of build-it-yourself cardboard blasters.

The group of toy inventors – who have worked on various Nerf and Star Wars products - has taken to the platform with the goal of securing £4,500 in funding.

Called PaperShooters, the blasters shoot ‘soft splat’ paper ammo up to 65 feet and come in kit form, targeting the construction fan audience.

“Our blasters are supplied in kit form, so you’ll need to assemble all 125 pieces, attaching every spring and tightening every screw,” said PaperShooter creator, Mike Howarth.

With over £1,500 of the Kickstarter funding goal, the range of blasters plan to begin shipping in July this year.

“Paper Shooters is highly innovative and provides a new build and play experience,” Howarth continued. “Our kits are aimed at kids aged 14 and upwards, and are more accurate than other blasters on the market.”

The Paper Shooters range features interchangeable camos, real triggers and ejecting shells.

“You don’t even need to collect your ammo afterwards – you make it yourself in seconds using ordinary paper with the mould included.”

The project has been nearly three years in the making now has 57 days remaining on the crowdfunding platform to raise the end goal in funding to help market the collection.
