The smash Beyblade property is spinning back to toy retail.
The collector’s edition of Nintendo 3DS video game Beyblade: Evolution will include an exclusive, six-piece Wing Pegasus 90WF toy previously unavailable outside of Japan.
Beyblade: Evolution lets players launch an in-game Beyblade to battle computer and human opponents. It's a fresh take on the Metal Saga TV series.
The game also contains a sneak peek of upcoming TV series Beyblade: Shogun Steel, which airs worldwide in autumn and features a “revolutionary” new toy line from Hasbro.
Rising Star Games is publishing the game, which is due to arrive this autumn.
“We are delighted to be working with Hasbro, Nelvana and d-rights on this innovative game made specifically for the Nintendo 3DS system and include an exciting new chapter in the series,” said Martin Defries, Rising Star Games’ managing director.
“We’re also thrilled to be able to offer fans the opportunity to get their hands on an exclusive battle top that is sure to be a must-have among serious players.”
Colin Bohm, Managing Director at Nelvana Enterprises, added: “Beyblade continues to offer an exciting world of interaction between the television series, toys, games and tournament community.
“We are pleased to be partnering with Rising Star Games to bring this engaging new gaming experience to the fans.”
The game is licensed by D-rights, a representative of Nelvana Enterprises, and Rising Star has also partnered with Hasbro for the special edition. A standard edition will also be available which doesn’t include the toy.
