Disney Store at Harrods to expand with new Marvel and Star Wars areas

Marvel space will feature a screen showing Marvel content, a Spider-Man pinball machine and new Incredible Hulk and Captain America sculptures.

Disney UK and Harrods are expanding the size of the Disney Store at Harrods with brand new areas dedicated to Marvel and Star Wars.

The space will increase by more than a third, and at launch, the focus of the new area will be on Marvel Super Heroes.

Alongside a activity-packed Spider-Man Training Academy, the new space will feature a screen showing Marvel content, a Spider-Man pinball machine and new Incredible Hulk and Captain America sculptures. 

The Marvel space will also house the original Iron Man suit worn by Robert Downey Jr. in the first Iron man film.

The theme of this area will be refreshed in line with upcoming launches, including Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Ahead of the new film landing next year, Star Wars will also have a dedicated space including Star Wars characters from the entire saga including the Star Wars Rebels.

“Our partnership with Disney continues to bring that unique magic to Harrods," said Torly Grimshawe, general merchandise manager of childrenswear at Harrods.

"Building on the success of the Boutique, Disney Café and Disney Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, the new space will continue to enhance the magical experience for our customers.”

Since opening in November 2013, Disney Store at Harrods has seen strong sales with top selling lines including Frozen Limited Edition costumes and Disney Princess merchandise. 

New features within the existing space include the arrival of a Mickey Mouse London Beefeater Plush and a replica of the snow sleigh from Frozen. 

There are also giant sculptures of Toy Story’s Woody and Jessie, Princess Sofia and Bambi, a magic Princess mirror as well as a full size Zebra costume from the Lion King Stage show.

"Last year’s opening of Disney’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Harrods, offering the ultimate fairy tale experience for children is a great example. 

"We’re delighted to build on its success with another retail first in the shape of this new, dedicated area for our Marvel and Star Wars characters, which is set to become a unique destination for fans.”
