Mattel is preparing to launch a new range of ‘super deluxe’ Hot Wheels cars, inspired by Star Wars, The Simpsons and the Aston Martin from Goldfinger.

The reveal was made as the firm readies its line up for the San Diego Comic Convention, taking place next month.

In its Star Wars inspired line is a Darth Vader tinged Hot Wheels car, stored inside a red Sith Lightsaber.

Priced at $40, Mattel is targeting the collectors market with the Star Wars/Hot Wheels crossover.

The Darth Vader Hot Wheels car will be released in the US this autumn.

Meanwhile, Screen Crush reports that The Simpsons inspired Hot Wheel car is based on ‘The Homer’, a vehicle Homer Simpson designed in The Simpsons episode entitled Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?

The car is stored under a glass dome and will retail for around $30.

Finally, a James Bond replica Aston Martin DB5, while not including an ejector seat, does come in a fancy display case.

Mattel will be unveiling a raft of Comic-Con exclusives at this year’s events, including action figures depicting the evolution of Batman, Max Steel and more.
