The Marathon Media and Spin Master series will begin airing during the Easter holidays from April 2nd, every weekday morning at 8am.
Karen Vermeulen, VP sales and co-production, Zodiak Kids, who brokered the deal with CITV, commented: "We are delighted to have secured a terrestrial broadcast partner in the UK for Redakai, Conquer the Kairu. CITV, as a free TV platform, plays a key part in supporting the roll-out of Redakai’s brand strategy in the UK.
"I am sure this unique animation will be well-received on CITV in the UK as it has been in other territories, including the US.”
The airing of the series will begin a comprehensive consumer product and toy plan in the UK, where Cartoon Network is the licensing agent and Spin Master hold the toy rights.
The first products to hit the shelves will be Spin Master’s Redakai TCG with Blast3D technology featuring one-of-a-kind 3D and animation effects. The initial launch phase will include extensive consumer sampling, TV advertising and print advertising in April and May to raise awareness, generate trial and recruit kids to the collectible trading card game.
Phil Hooper, marketing director of Spin Master UK, said: "We received an overwhelming response from retailers during London Toy Fair in January and everyone was very excited about the property and products.
"We were also delighted that the BTHA awarded the Redakai Starter Set with a 2012 Best New Toy Award for the Pocket Money Toy category."
Redakai has also been acquired by Cartoon Network (US, EMEA, Latin America), Network 10 (Australia), Clan TV (Spain), and Panda Biggs (Portugal), as well as its co-production partners Gulli and Canal J (France) and YTV (Canada).
