Character Options is to roll out the latest development in its Character Building line in August - with the unveiling of Character Building Sports Stars.
The new football construction range will include players from the English Premier League's top teams such as Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Each of the micro-figures are fully articulated, with a 3D head that is digitally sculpted to ensure the player likeness is instantly recognisable. There are 50 to collect in the launch series, while heads and body parts are interchangeable, allowing children to create their own ultimate football team.
Accompanying the figures is a collection of construction play-sets including the Sports Stars Pitch and Play-set, which allows kids to pass, dribble and shoot by flicking their players across the pitch.
The mini match play-set includes 24 pitch sections that connect together to build a 51x38cm football pitch.
Other new play-sets will include Dug Out, complete with advertising hoardings that surround the playing surface, and a Spot Kick Set for honing penalty taking skills.
"Character will accompany the launch with a high profile marketing campaign across all platforms," said Mark Hunt, brand manager at Character Options. "We have an action-packed TV commercial and a social media campaign with BinWeevils, which will really get kids immersed within the brand, kid press reaching over four million readers, plus a fully immersive PR campaign that will drive the collecting.
"It's literally all kicking off and, ahead of the new season, it's perfect timing."
