Hit kids’ channel CBBC is preparing to launch a new series inspired by the latest advancements in children’s drones.

Called Airmageddon and from the producers of Robot wars, the series will give kids the chance to customise and fly their own drones into combat in a studio arena.

Each contestant will compete with their remote controlled drones in a test of aerial skill, as each pilot is joined by a friend or relative – of any age - who will become their wing man of woman.

David Rawlings, MD of UK air-based toys distributor, Flying toys, believes that the new series will "help attract more youngsters into model building and flying."

In preparation of the launch of the new show, CBBC is now searching the nation for fearless and tech-savvy kids to take part.

If you know a youngster aged 9 to 14 with a passion for drone flying, check out the Airmageddon website here.

The closing date for applications is midnight on Friday, October 16th 2015.
