In a statement the firm said Burcham's departure was the result of a decision to restructure the business as a response to tough trading conditions and the further impact of the sterling exchange rate.

The statement went on: "Jon has proved a valuable part of the UK business over the past three years and has been instrumental in helping grow Jumbo into a strong games company with effective marketing campaigns.

"During this time he has also worked closely with product development in building a strong portfolio. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jon for his time with Jumbo and wish him well for the future."
