To mark the finale of the Build-A-Bear Share Your Heart campaign, the company invited guests down to its New York City store to celebrate.
Build-A-Bear Workshop and Save the Children hosted 25 guests from Sheltering Arms Children and Family Services to the event, which honoured the campaign that supported Save the Children’s Journey of Hope programme in the UK, US and Canada.
Build-A-Bear and its guests raised more than $300,000 during the company’s Share Your Heart campaign, including $100,000 from the company’s own foundation.
Natalie Vega O'Neil, acting VP for US programs at Save the Children, said: “This event embodies the spirit of the Journey of Hope program and the importance of a loving and supportive environment for children in need.
“The power of something as simple and innocent as a bear bringing a smile and feeling of love to a child reminds us all of how important this psychosocial work is for children here and around the world.
“Thanks to the support from Build-A-Bear Workshop, we will continue this important work with communities to build on children's strengths and resiliency as we expand the program and reach even more children in need."
