Lego wants to increase its presence with younger children by encouraging them to read and build a budget Duplo set at the same time.
The simply titled Read & Build range consists of three sets, priced at £9.99 RRP each, which include a book and a set of bricks.
Whether it’s the Busy Farm, Grow Caterpillar Grow or Let’s Go Vroom sets, kids can read a book with their parents and build a story-related item out of bricks along the way. Each product comes in a plastic re-sealable pack.
The Lego Duplo Read & Build range is for children aged 18 months to four years old. It’s designed to teach them how to follow instructions, while improving fine motor skills and colour recognition.
“Story telling with bricks is such a natural part of pre-school play with Lego Duplo,” said Lego Duplo brand manager Claire Bradley.
“Read & Build is a fantastic new product concept. The sets provide valuable time together time for parent and child, and make learning fun.
“These multifunctional sets offer a natural recruitment opportunity for retailers – they make a great gift and provide very strong price value with both bricks and play promise.”
