De Agostini, Active Media and Nelvana Rights have teamed up to create an interactive version of the Beyblade collectable card game.

www.beybladecards.com has been launched in multiple European countries including Germany, France, Russia, Portugal and Italy.

The interactive puts players in a Beyblade stadium where they can battle with their virtual card collections.

These virtual battles can be with up to four opponents, with bonus cards awarded to winners. The site also has information on collections and allows players to register their real-world card collections.

The game supports five languages: Russian, French, German, Portuguese, Italian and Spanish.

The Beyblade spinning top game is distributed by Hasbro in the UK.

Elliot Kahan, director at the website’s developer, Activate Media, said: “This development provides a completely new dimension to the popular hobby of themed card collecting. The site dovetails perfectly with both the collection concept and the game perfectly follows Beyblade’s philosophy.”

Colin Bohm, MD at Nelvana Enterprises, said:
“The new website and interactive game takes the Beyblade card experience to the next level. We are excited to be working with our partners Activate Media and De Agostini on this thrilling new dimension of the Beyblade experience.”
