Bandai's SmartPet impresses in Tokyo

Grabbing the headlines at this year's International Tokyo Toy Show was the SmartPet - a new feature loaded iPhone-enabled toy from Bandai.

The playful pup can walk around at a top speed of three steps per second and sits and stands on command, and also wags its tail.

People can customise the dog’s cartoon faces on the phone, and perform a variety of other activities outlined in the teaser video below.

It is retailing in Japan for around £60.

Bandai UK has told ToyNews that it is looking into bringing the SmartPet to our shores, potentially for this Christmas.
