A Special Edition Alan Turing Monopoly board has launched to celebrate the life of the great mathematician.
The Bletchley Park Trust, set up to preserve the historic World War II site, launched the game, in conjunction with Winning Moves and Willian Newman.
Newman is the son of Turing's mentor, and designed a hand-drawn Monopoly board over 60 years ago. The product was developed from this classic board.
The special edition of Monopoly tells the story of Alan Turing's life. It includes a replica of the hand-drawn board, complete with William's rules, Turing's face on all the banknotes, huts and blocks in place of houses and hotels, and never-before-seen pictures of Turing.
All proceeds will go towards Bletchley Park and its development. The first 1,000 units were purchased by Google.
“Bringing this board to life has been one of the most exciting and unique projects we’ve been involved with here, and we’re thrilled to see it finally available for others to enjoy,” said Iain Standen, CEO of the Bletchley Park Trust.
Winning Moves EMEA development director Peter Griffin added: "We hope fans of Turing across the globe will enjoy playing on this very special edition of Monopoly."
