This year's Gadget Show Live attracted 79,775 attendees across six days last week - with the new Toy Arena in particular going down a storm with visitors.
Hosted by Toyology.tv's Peter Jenkinson, the Toy Arena (which was a new addition for this year, see our story here) allowed 4,000 children to get hands on with a wide range of toys.
"The toy arena was at breaking point for most of the show, with 30 sessions a day and 4,000 people passing through our inflatable dome," said Jenkinson. "Gadget Show Live Christmas will see toys taking an even bigger role."
Katie Tozer, event manager for Gadget Show Live @ Christmas, added: “The toy industry is an area we are paying attention to and are exciting about some of the Techy Toys out and coming out this year. By introducing Toy Features and Zones to both our lives events and seeing the reaction of a visitors gives us every confidence this sector is of huge interest to our audience.”
Exhibitors were happy, too.
Jan Arden of Apptoyz commented: “Gadget Show, NEC – exceeded expectations. Toy Galaxy staff and customers excelled at keeping Aliens at bay around the Toy Arena, thanks to the AppToyz AppBlaster and some sharp shooting.”
As new exhibitors to The Gadget Show, John Adams was overwhelmed by the positive response from consumers to HolograFX, an interactive entertainment show, designed to make the user the star of the show using a mobile device.
MD Simon Pilkington said: “Launching HolograFX has projected the company into the growing entertainment toy sector, by embracing new technologies and opening new doors at retail in this developing market. We have already signed up for the London show in November."
