The new CEO will be primarily responsible for corporate development, human resources and investor and public relations.

Brune moves form Saga Group, a global manufacturer and distributor of luxury goods based in Hong Kong, where he worked since 2003. He held the post of executive vice president since 2005.

In this position, he was responsible for the company's distribution operations in Asia, Europe and America and distribution partners in 50 countries.

Prior to this, Brune spent many years with British consumer goods manufacturer, Reckitt Benckiser, working in Germany, China and Thailand.

Thomas Pfau, director of marketing and sales since August 2006, is to leave the company before the end of his contract at his own request. Pfau will depart on friendly terms in order to take up a new professional challenge outside of the toy industry.

Dr. Harald Rieger, chairman of Zapf’s supervisory board said:

"Zapf Creation is now back on track following the successful restructuring. I am confident that Stephan Brune will give Zapf Creation new strategic impulses with his extensive international experience and his expertise in the consumer goods sphere.

“Thomas Pfau enhanced our Group's product portfolio and successfully realigned our sales operations. His performance for the good of our company, especially in difficult times, deserves our recognition and thanks."
