At their Regional Meetings held at the end of March, Toymaster Members overwhelmingly agreed to invite Youngsters and World of Wonder Members to attend the 2007 Toymaster May Show at The Majestic Hotel Harrogate on 15th to 17th May.

In a statement, Toymaster said: "The invitation came about following discussions regarding a possible invitation to Youngsters and World of Wonder Members to the 2008 May Show. Once the principle of inviting non Toymaster Members had been agreed, it was considered that not to extend the invitation to this year albeit belatedly, would be a missed opportunity.

"In assessing the implications of this invitation Youngsters took into account the short time scale between the invitation being made and Youngsters own show arranged for July. This would not allow it to fully consider the consequences on that show and make any necessary changes to it. Furthermore there was little time for Youngsters members to make arrangements to attend the Harrogate show. Because of these issues Youngsters decided that in this instance they had no reasonable alternative but to decline the invitation from Toymaster.

"Nevertheless both Youngsters and Toymaster are enthusiastically committed to exploring how they might be able to co-operate to combine their individual shows into a single event in future years."
